The documentary I watched was Jiro Dreams of Sushi, and from
the film, I chose to analyze at around the 1:01:00 mark, where one of the sushi
chefs is shown brushing the sushi with the soy. Not only does this give an
artistic viewpoint to the culinary scene of sushi making, but it gives a
glimpse of technique that dictates prior hard work and dedication to perfect a
craft. Jiro said in the film that one must dedicate himself to his skill in
order to be his best, and that is what is happening in this picture. The more
time spent performing the art of sushi making, the more you improve at your
craft. Not only is it beautiful, but it tells a story with taste, and allows one
to present his own style to an audience through his skills and abilities.
