The image I chose was from Jiro Dreams of Sushi and it was documentary-like and conceptual. The still shows Jiro's apprentices working meticulously, with Jiro watching and analyzing. The shot was illustrating an “everyday routine”, while also supporting the concepts of simplicity and dedication to one's craft, which dominate the film. I think that the still shows how Jiro has passed his work ethic on to his apprentices. The point of view is third-person, with the apprentices at a medium distance and Jiro closer to the camera. The camera is completely out of the scene and creates an objective effect. The color was unedited, however, the scene behind Jiro is slightly blurred. This puts most of the focus on Jiro as he surveys his apprentices with unwavering concentration.
