Documentary Update

The process of editing clips together in order to make a rough draft of my documentary has proved just how unprepared I am to start making a final production. It's one thing to plan and to vision the outcome of your work, but it's a whole other challenge to actually recreate this idea that you've materialized in your head. Let's call this the art of procrastination or just an overestimate of my abilities as a producers of high end documentaries. Which ever is preferred, I've come across too many complications to upload something that I am proud of just yet. Maybe it's the perfectionist mentality that I have never managed to perfect over the years. I'm not happy with the production of my clips; either a clip looks too poor of quality, is too shaky, from my inability to hold something steady, or because my dog is barking at my cat throughout a majority of my shots. I want to produce something that captures the essence of my subject. So, I have a lot of work to redo, unfortunately. I hope that going back and refilming shots to meet my high standards has some sort of effect on the final production of my documentary.
