The
documentary I decided to do was on my friend's experiences on being a
freshman engineer on campus. Most of the footage has been cut-off due
to some filming restrictions, so it is currently very choppy and
incomplete. Most of the footage is interview shots and some b-roll
footage, so fitting it into the time frame may be a challenge.
Filming my subject is a hassle due to conflicting schedules, so the
footage is going to be tough to re-do, but will need to be. Some of
the editing that has been done involves the cutaway shots, some light
music in the background during transitions, and the cut-off interview
is in place as a sort of time holder to gauge the length so far. I've
more or less decided how the film is going to be edited, and how I
desire the tone to be like, so while the process is far from
complete, it can now be finished much more quickly once the footage
is recorded. In
addition to that, I've come up with several more relevant questions
to ask the subject now that I have a much more clear idea of what I
want to do with the documentary, and intend to tie the action shots
and b-roll footage much more closely together.
